Two-way Quantum One-counter Automata
After the rst treatments of quantum nite state automata by Moore and Crutch eld and by Kondacs and Watrous, a number of papers study the power of quantum nite state automata and their variants. This paper introduces a model of two-way quantum one-counter automata (2Q1CAs), combining the model of two-way quantum nite state automata (2QFAs) by Kondacs and Watrous and the model of one-way quantum ...
متن کاملDynactin polices two-way organelle traffic
How is the bidirectional motion of organelles controlled? In this issue, Deacon et al. (2003) reveal the unexpected finding that dynactin (previously known to control dynein-based motility) binds to kinesin II and regulates anterograde movement of Xenopus melanosomes. This result suggests that dynactin may be a key player in coordinating vesicle traffic in this system.
متن کاملTwo-way traffic flow: Exactly solvable model of traffic jam
We study completely asymmetric two-channel exclusion processes in one dimension. It describes a two-way traffic flow with cars moving in opposite directions. The interchannel interaction makes cars slow down in the vicinity of approaching cars in the other lane. Particularly, we consider in detail the system with a finite density of cars on one lane and a single car on the other. When the inter...
متن کاملUnary Languages Recognized by Two-Way One-Counter Automata
A two-way deterministic finite state automaton with one counter (2D1CA) is a fundamental computational model that has been examined in many different aspects since sixties, but we know little about its power in the case of unary languages. Up to our knowledge, the only known unary nonregular languages recognized by 2D1CAs are those formed by strings having exponential length, where the exponent...
متن کاملStability of RED with two-way TCP traffic
This paper points out a phase effect with REDlike queue management algorithms and two-way TCP traffic. It is shown by simulation and measurement that the RED queue converges to a state of heavy oscillation in the presence of two-way bulk-data TCP traffic, causing suboptimal link utilization and service differentiation between in-profile and out-of-profile packets. Besides investigating the reas...
